You can find a deal of articles about why working from home is amazing and wonderful. You heard that everyone should be remote now. Because this is the future we all want, right?

You know what? Forget about it.

Here are the top 5 reasons why working from home is a total disaster, and you should never do this. Even if your life is at risk, it’s just too much. Because, you know. Screw these introverts, you are a people person.

  1. When you work from home… there’s no way to invade anyone’s privacy or interrupt their thought process.

You like interrupting people, make them uncomfortable. Even force them to stay in your company when they do not want to. This is just your nature, nothing to discuss here.

2. When you work from home.. you cannot possibly be productive because you cannot see Jim. You know that he puts some hand cream at 12:45 pm and calls his mom every 10 minutes.

You have to be aware of what’s going on in people’s lives. You need this essential information. It fuels you. It gives you the energy you need to go on with your day.

3. When you work from home… there’s no commute, so it does not feel real.

You love crowded places. You love getting all the drive of getting on a bus or a train at a rush hour. This excitement and thrill help you get to work and be productive for the rest of the day.

4. When you work from home… you cannot attend as many useful meetings in person as you want.

Meetings are an essential part of the collaborative process. And, as a people person, you know that nothing drives collaboration so much than meetings. As many meetings as possible. Especially the ones with the accounting department.

5. When you work from home… you feel lonely. And no dog, cat or stuffed animal can fulfill this sucking feeling of your personal and emotional insufficiency.

Those people who came up with online services when you cannot just hop a call with someone to get something are just maniacs. You need a good, fulfilling emotional contact with human beings. Even if there’s no actual need for it.

I hope that convinced you that working from home is never a good idea. And will always lead to a total disaster. Even if there’s a threat of a pandemic in the world, go to work as it never happened.

Nobody and nothing can stop you from being a people person.
